Crafting extraordinary learning experiences
Just the summaryTell me more
LEAD is a guiding framework designed to make learning and assessment as engaging, transformative, and impactful as possible. It combines an open toolkit with a flexible process for discovery and design.
It’s meant for first-time and seasoned educators, faculty development professionals, corporate learning specialists, development teams, and edupreneurs — anyone who stays up late or jumps out of bed early dreaming about how to make learning experiences better.
We hope you find it helpful, and we welcome and would be grateful for your collaboration and feedback.

LEAD is an ongoing experiment being carried out in public. The tools and process themselves can be thought of as a series of working hypotheses informed by theories and best practices in disciplines such as instructional design (ID), learning experience design (LXD), user experience design (UX), story-driven learning design (SDLD), design thinking, the neuroscience of learning, and others. LEAD isn’t meant to replace the existing evidence-based practices in any of those fields but, rather, to make them more accessible, bring them together in a deliberate way, and explore their shared potential.
Our community continuously refines the tools and process found here based on feedback received and experiences gained by leaders in their pursuit of the extraordinary. We work closely with such leaders through their teams, in their communities, and as part of our LEAD Studio’s cohort-based experiences.
We hope you find LEAD helpful. We welcome and would be grateful for your collaboration and feedback.
